Ventipop Is Back
“Reunited, and it feels so good…" ~ Peaches & Herb 1978
Ventipop never really went away—I’ve just been quietly building playlists on Spotify while juggling kids, college drop-offs, and supporting my wife through her battle with cancer (she’s in remission now, thankfully). Life’s finally eased up a bit, so I’m back—volume up, rocking white patent leather shoes, a Travolta suit, and just enough gold chains to embarrass my kids.
This return features five fresh tracks from across the globe—folk, indie, rock, instrumental, and a few that defy easy labels (my favorite kind). These are the songs I’ve been obsessing over all month, and there’s a good chance at least one will land on your “new favorite” list.
Hit play, turn it up, and if you’re feeling the vibe, help spread the word: subscribe on Substack, share with friends, and follow the full playlists on Spotify.
Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds - “Situation”
File under Country Rock Disco?
Grace Ives - “Stupid Bitches”
File under Lorde if her antidepressants worked.
Kit Sebastian - “Göç / Me”
File under my favorite 60’s European pop, Anatolian Psychedelia, Brazilian Tropicalia and American jazz band.
Styrofoam Winos - “Pearls”
File under charming, folk trio that hops through genres faster than a mood ring on a menopausal woman.
Michael Stipe & Andrew Watt - “I Played The Fool”
File under I’ve heard of that guy.
